How to Separate Discord from Audio Radar using Voicemeeter Banana

In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of separating Discord chat from Audio Radar using Voicemeeter. For this guide, we used Voicemeeter Banana, but the same steps can be applied for Voicemeeter Potato (a more robust version of Banana). This will ensure that Audio Radar filters out voice chat, providing a more immersive experience without interruptions. Follow these step-by-step instructions to configure your audio settings and enhance your gaming setup.

REQUIRED: You'll need to complete the initial Voicemeeter Banana (or Potato) install and setup for this to work.

If you haven't already, follow this guide How to Setup Voicemeeter Settings to get started. Then come back to this article!

Step 1:

Go to the official VB-Audio website or navigate directly to the Virtual Audio Cable (VAC) section.

Step 2:

Find the 'Download' section for the VB-CABLE Driver. Choose the appropriate version for your operating system. For Windows, it might be labeled "VBCABLE_Driver_Pack43.zip". Click the download link.

Step 3:

Once the download is complete, extract the zip file and run the setup program as an administrator. Follow the installation prompts.

Step 4:

Reboot your computer after installation to ensure the drivers are correctly initialized.

Step 5:

Open Voicemeeter Banana or Potato (whichever software you downloaded).

Step 6:

Set Stereo Input 1 to Cable Output (this should now appear as an option after installing VAC).

Step 7:

Set CABLE Output to A2.

Step 8:

Assign A1 to Audio Radar. This may appear as your monitor or tv.

Step 9:

Assign A2 to your headset or speakers.

Step 10:

Set the Voicemeeter AUX to output through both A1 and A2.

Step 11:

Open Discord, go to SettingsVoice & Video.

Step 12:

Set the Input Device to your desired microphone, and the Output Device to CABLE Input.

Step 13:

Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray and go to Sound settings.

Step 14:

Set the default output to Voicemeeter AUX Input (VB-Audio Voicemeeter VAIO).

Step 15:

Set the default input to your desired microphone.

Step 16:

Open the Volume Mixer.

Step 17:

Ensure Discord is set to output through CABLE Input.

Step 18: Final Checks and Testing

Test Discord Audio: Confirm Discord is outputting through Voicemeeter and that you can hear it in your headset.

Test System Audio: Play other audio sources to ensure they're also routing correctly.

Adjust Levels: Balance audio levels, via Voicemeeter, until you find the best settings for your setup.
